Question 1

What is binocular vision?

Accepted Answer

Binocular vision is how well the right and left eye work together and merge their images into one. A small misalignment can cause headaches, fatigue and reading difficulties even when visual acuity is good.

Question 2

How do you examine binocular vision?

Accepted Answer

We use the extended measuring and correction method MKH with Zeiss Polatest. It distinguishes between motor and sensory conditions and maps binocular vision very precisely.

Question 3

What are prism glasses?

Accepted Answer

Lenses that bend light so the images land in the right place in the eyes, so the eye muscles don't have to work hard to align. Prisms don't cure the misalignment, but correct it as long as they are worn.

Question 4

Does the school/health-centre test catch everything?

Accepted Answer

No. The four-year check tests each eye separately. Many children see well but their eyes are still not comfortable. We recommend ruling out vision problems with an optician first.

Question 5

What if you find signs of eye disease?

Accepted Answer

Then it is our duty to refer you directly to an ophthalmologist. We work with GPs, ophthalmologists and orthoptists.
